Jacqueline & T-shire | Wedding in Vancouver, Canada | Heartmade Weddings Photographers
Jacqueline and Tshire’s wedding in Vancouver lands in our blog in the middle of a melancholic roller coaster for us! In a month it will be two years since we decided to set up our own particular settlement in Canada and we couldn’t be more seized by nostalgia.
We can’t think of few experiences as American as the one we had during Jacqueline and Tshire’s wedding in Downtown Vancouver. Well, yes, doing Trick or Treat for the first time as adults in the most magical Halloween night we’ve ever had. A turning point in our Canadian adventure that caused our hearts to divide a little more between the new world and the old continent.
However, when it comes to weddings, is there anything more American than walking the streets of Downtown just before getting married in one of the most classy and charming restaurants in Vancouver? During this wedding we managed to visit the most symbolic places in the city, from the squared streets of the financial district in Downtown, to the bay of Coal Harbor, passing through the famous Stanley Park, the largest urban park in the country.
The shelter provided by the skyscrapers was our strident home for almost a year and a half, but, on this occasion, it was those same structures that rose up as silent colossi to witness the union of Jacqueline & Tshire. Silent because, to our surprise, this was one of the quietest and peaceful days we had during our adventure in Canada, as if the city had decided to shut down and respectfully join Jacqueline & Tshire during one of the most decisive moments of their lives. We realized that, despite being in the heart of the city, we experienced a day that was imbued with the most absolute solemnity. In this very same blog we talked about the ancestral nature of mountains, in Vancouver, on the contrary, the immense skyscraper walls are the maximum expression of modernity and, as in so many other North American cities, make up a large part of their identity.
The ceremony, the cocktail and the party, on the other hand, were a complete different thing. Jacqueline & Tshire decided to celebrate at the quintessential wedding restaurant, Brix & Mortar, a fancy and discreet venue located in the heart of Yaletown. There was room for laughter, for classy music and for some dance lessons by Tshire and one of his guests, some true gentlemen that taught us the true meaning of swag. That being said, we have little more to add to one of the most special and intimate weddings on our blog, so intimate that it only took us five minutes to walk back to our home.
